30th May
medley of photos
We had a wonderful day caching and seeing some amazing places. Saw our first echidna of the trip on the road coming out of Kalbarri.

We’ve decided to stay another night in Northampton. Does anyone remember Izal loo paper?? In a little square box – they have it here at the caravan park. Wonder if they bought a mega deal of the stuff years ago!!!!
This morning we departed Australia!!!!!!!! That’s got you hasn’t it?
We entered the Hutt River Province – another one off the bucket list. We met up with Prince Leonard – whacky or what!!! He declared war on Australia and 3 days later without a shot or angry word being fired he declared the war over – effectively as Australia did not react he was able to declare his principality – helped by the fact that Western Australia was never declared a British Colony – another oversight.
We then returned to Australia 2 hours later!! Headed for Murchison Gorge.
Lovely spot for picnic lunch and a down, down, down & up,up, up walk. Didn’t get to the bottom though.
any ideas as to who lives in this nest??
1st June
Leave Northampton . Pretty little stop off. Onto Hamelin Pool. Famous for Stromatolites, Telegraph station and amazing Shell Bricks. Tiny outpost in the middle of nowhere – only salty bore water available. No phone, Internet or tv. Great spot
I want a shell stone house. Bricks made by shells and limestone made by single cell bacteria – well you learn something new every day.
2nd June
Move on to Shark Bay and on the way look at the Bay of Shells and Eagles bluff. Gosh it’s a hard life but someone’s got to do it!!!
Shell Beach
Eagles Bluff
we are now at Shark Bay for a couple of nights. Going to try an Earth cache – whatever that is.
Thanks for sharing the photo’s. Ollie looks very well and by the looks of it he lost some weight. Great that you are having a good time. Enjoy it as much as you can, before you know your holiday is over. We are home for just over a week and it seems so long ago that we have met both of you. But then again, you have still a few months to go, so enjoy. 🙂
